NOTE: Serial ports are also referred to with tty device names, such as ttSy1, ttyS2 and so

forth.

AUX/Modem Port (ttyM1 or ttyA1)

NOTE: If an internal modem is ordered and factory installed, this port is configured inter-

nally as a modem port. If an internal modem is not installed, the port is configured as an

auxiliary port, and a PDU or an external modem can be connected to it. The figure shows

an external modem connected.
